Grapefruit Tea

We are always surprised how few mocktail recipes call for tea. The soft tannins, unique flavor profiles and near ubiquitous access to tea make for compelling reason to use it in recipes, but rarely does it find it's way onto the menu. Oh well, all the more reason to celebrate when we come across a smart bar manager with good taste. In this case however, this mocktail recipe comes from the smart folks at Bittermilk. It's more like a beverage than a mocktail, but complex enough to drink out at a restaurant or bar, nonetheless.

Ingredients

  • 1 part grapefruit margarita mix (try Barcoop Bevy from Bittermilk)

  • 1 part black tea steeped with coriander and citrus peel

  • Citrus peel for garnish

Directions

  1. Steep black tea with coriander and citrus peel (Orange, lemon, lime or grapefruit).

  2. Strain tea.

  3. In a glass with lots of ice, add Grapefruit Margarita and brewed tea.

  4. Garnish with citrus peel.
