Review of Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic Italian Spritz (their best flavor yet?)

Lyre's Italian Spritz is the latest addition to the Australian brand's growing non-alcoholic portfolio. The company, now valued at over $100 million dollars, has launched their Spritz right in time for summer.

And it may be the most successful Lyre's flavor yet.

The Italian Spritz, as you may have guessed, is Lyre's "impossibly crafted" interpretation of Aperol - the beautiful red/orange Italian aperitif that sells by the truckload during Spritz season.

And Lyre's hit the mark...

Italian Spritz is a knock-on substitute for Aperol - right down to the beautiful, bright red color. Like Figlia and Wilfred's non-alcoholic aperitifs, it's a welcome entrant to the market.

The drink is simple, with notes of citrus and bitterness, but successful. It's everything you want in a non-alcoholic Aperol - sweet, bright, zesty and bitter. The orange and rhubarb flavors shine through. Overall, it's an incredibly well-balanced drink.

Lyre's uses some sweeting agents to provide a rounded mouth feel, which helps their range of products hold up well to mixers.

And it makes a beautiful spritz...

Just add ice and your choice of soda or tonic water (we prefer tonic) and garnish with an orange slice.

If you love an Aperol spritz, Lyre's Italian Spritz is a must try.
